Position: Director of Human Resources & Administration

Location: Washington, DC

Reports to: Senior Vice President & Chief of Staff

Responsibilities

  • Human Resources
  • Serve as the strategic senior global human capital expert and thought partner to executive team
  • Stay abreast of, recommend, and implement best practices in compensation management, talent recruitment and development, and regulatory compliance and HR policy
  • Develop and implement effective employee relations practices; Serve as coach to staff supervisors
  • Oversee performance management system
  • Translate strategic goals into effective operational plans; Develop and implement efficient and effective workflow processes for HR services (including recruitment, onboarding, internal transfers, departures, etc.)
  • Liaise with employee insurance broker and providers; Coordinate open enrollment of benefits; Ensure benefits reporting and compliance
  • Ensure HR records compliance and complete required state and federal reporting
  • Identify, develop, and facilitate training programs for employees and managers
  • Coordinate employee retirement plan committee
  • Develop and ensure HR services performance targets are met
  • US Facilities Management
  • Ensure IREX facilities provide a safe and effective workplace
  • Serve as liaison with building management, real estate broker, and real estate attorney; Oversee subtenant relations
  • Coordinate staff workspace assignments across divisions
  • Track and make recommendations on upcoming space needs
  • General Administration
  • Supervise a team of 3 staff (for all functions)
  • Ensure corporate business registrations and federal and state tax exemptions are properly filed and up-to-date.
  • Oversee procurement and contract negations with HR and administrative support vendors, including travel agency
  • Oversee general office support (front desk, supplies)

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment and experience developing and providing effective, mission-oriented, and compliant HR support
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with an ability to use data to make decisions and to translate strategy from plan into measurable action
  • 8+ years of progressive experience, including 5 years supervisory experience
  • Experience working in an organization with significant international operations
  • Professional HR Credential (ex. PHR, SPHR, GPHR) preferred
  • Knowledge of global HR practices for locally hired talent preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to engage with staff at all levels and geographies of the organization
  • Strong results based leadership skills; Well-organized with an ability to multi-task
